Its all because of the support of my family and my friends. I have came far from that abused girl and I am near to My Real Self. I am still trying to find my Bubbly self, who used to be optimistic in all the hard situations, life kept in front of her, who used to love herself and her self respect was the priority of her life.
I did the same thing by escaping from that relation and now, my life is much better. It will give you the courage needed to escape like it gave to me. This is a MUST read for anyone in an abusive relationship. Everything is described in such an amazing and realistic way, it feels like you're watching a movie. And by the end they meet and the story gets quite intense and absolutely amazing. It comes from two points of view, Katie's and Kevin's. So, lets leave it for the time when you will read it yourself. The book also contains some supernatural twist which I should not discuss here, as it will ruin your surprise, when you will read the book. In the book, Katie finds her SAFE HAVEN in the small North Carolina town of South-port with Alex, a widowed store owner with a kind heart and two young children. The day came unexpectedly and I got the strength to get away from my horrible life, to my SAFE HAVEN, which was my family. However, still deep in my heart, there was a voice who kept reminding me that one day I will be safe, safe from all the pain, physical or mental. I had gotten used to all those threats and violence, that I had accepted it as my destiny. Similarly, I got help from my friends because I was never brave enough to accept the situations I was going through.
In book, Katie gets help from the neighbors to run away from her past and to start a new life. But, as we all know real life and story life are two completely different things, but there are always some similarities. Instead, I was crying because of the traumatic events taking place, and the horror I felt for the main character because I have been in an abusive relation too. But, not for the normal mushy-gushy reasons. And, as with all of Sparks' book, I found myself tearing up in parts. There were many instances where my heart was racing, and I could not find the strength to put the book down. The central story is about a girl named Katie running from her past, while looking for the strength to embrace a new future. The book describes the darkest side of an unhealthy relationship: abuse, power and control. So I am Back with a new book I have read.
